Who founded GMOs? Herbert Boyer and Stanley Cohen are created with making the first genetically engineered organisms. They made a method to take a gene from one organism and put it into another. The new method made a wide variety of ways that it could be used, but many people started to worry about the impact it would have on human health. In 1975 there was a conference held with many high leaders. They discussed the safety of GMO for three days. The agreement was that GE test could still be ran but under very strict guidelines.
To this day GM products are still being used on a daily basis. They are used for anything from animal feed to human food. This is just another reason for people to believe that GMO products are safe to eat and use in our daily life.
